Apply for Admission

The College of the Marshall Islands accepts applications for Fall, Spring and Summer semesters. Applicants must complete the application form and submit the other documents to be considered for admission to the college. Applicants are encouraged to follow the Admissions deadlines accordingly.

Getting a college education should not be difficult due to not being able to access financial resources. The Financial Aid office and staff warmly welcome you, and we are here to help you meet your financial needs.

The Upward Bound Program is funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Education and administered by the College of the Marshall Islands. The ultimate goal of the UB program is to assist high school students with preparation for post-secondary education through the development of academic and social skills.

The Adult Basic Education (ABE) program is designed to provide foundational skills for adult learners, supporting them as they build essential reading, writing, math, and critical thinking skills.

Business Studies

CMI’s Department of Business Studies, our measure of accomplishment is making a difference for our students and the community.

Education

Education Department is to prepare knowledgeable, resourceful teachers capable of creating classroom environments in which students engage in meaningful learning experiences that build a foundation for lifelong learning.

Liberal Arts

In the Liberal Arts Department, we are committed to graduating students with a comprehensive foundation in all issues within the arts, humanities, social sciences and sciences. Our graduates move on to Bachelor’s degrees and graduate degrees in psychology, sociology, literature, history, and every area of humanities.

Marshallese Studies

In 2014, the Marshallese Studies become a stand-alone academic department. The Department now offers 10 Marshallese Studies courses and two new certificate programs, namely Marshallese Language Arts (MLA) and Marshallese Social Studies (MSS).

Nursing & Allied Health

The Department of Nursing & Allied Health at the College of the Marshall Islands prepares students to provide basic nursing care in the Marshall Islands and the Micronesia region. The curriculum offers an Associate of Science degree in Nursing and a Certificate in Public Health.

Developmental Education

The mission of the Developmental Education Department is to develop students’ abilities necessary for success in college credit programs. The main areas of focus are English reading, writing, listening, speaking, and student engagement.

Science, Technology, Engineering & Math

The department is committed to provide graduates with knowledge and competency in the areas of Science, Technology, and Mathematics and exhibit self-reliance as an independent critical thinkers and innovative problem solvers. Our courses prepare graduates for careers in STEM related fields and those seeking transfers to four year colleges and universities.

General Education

The core curriculum is at the heart of the undergraduate experience. Courses selected and developed for the core curriculum are designed to provide a foundation in inquiry and critical thinking, communication both written and spoken, the diversity of the human experience and ethics and social responsibility.

Adult Basic Education

Provided with an opportunity to further their education or secure employment.

Maritime Vocational Training Center

To provide high-quality educational services in maritime related vocational training to the Marshallese people and students from other nations who desire career opportunities in the area of maritime studies.

Vocational Programs

The Vocational Education Department offers a Certificate of Completion in Carpentry. The One year certificate program exposes students to the knowledge and skills relating to the construction industry, with a focus on carpentry.
