Fitness Center

The Fitness Center provides students, CMI staff and faculty a facility to work out and stay fit. It offers an outlet for health, recreational equipment and healthy activities to provide the CMI community with general well-being and social development.

Facilities and Equipment

In the Fitness Center, there are cardiovascular equipment and free weights that provides the student, staff and/or faculty a channel to get a good workout in. There’s also mirrors to look at your form to see how you are improving on your health journey.

Intramural Sports

Through the Fitness Center we create intramural sports for the CMI Students that consists of: men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s volleyball, and many more! This is an amazing way to get involved with an active sport that promotes health and team work. 

Sport Clubs

In collaboration with the Student Clubs and Fitness Center, CMI students can create Sports Clubs to inspire and motivate one another to stay healthy. The sky is the limit! You can create clubs such as: basketball team, volleyball team, weight lifting team, nutritional crew, or Zumba club.

Fitness Classes

The Student Sports Coordinators will be designing intensive workout/fitness classes that will push you to your best selves. However, if you are part of a sports club and want to teach your peers and faculty, please talk to Meyar Laukon to input the schedule.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to be an athlete to use the fitness center?

No! Fitness is for everyone! If you’re not sure where to start, check out this list of online wellness resources.

I worked up a sweat. Is there a space for me to freshen up? 
Yes! We have a shower area that you can use to freshen up. But that will be only for those who are working out! Also make sure to bring your own soap, shampoo etc. and clean up after yourself. 

I am not associated with CMI can I use your facility to work out?
Unfortunately, our space is only for CMI students, staff and faculty. We will ask you to remove yourself from the premises. 

The equipment is not working right now? 
We are in the process of getting new equipment. There has to be a monitor in the space to make sure you are using the equipment in a safe manner.

There are no workers, can I go in and workout by myself?
No. Workers must be in the space in order to let people in. This is for your safety purposes. 

I am not a CMI student, I’m a staff (or faculty) but I want to teach something about fitness. Can I do that? 
Yes. Please see Meyar Mamis to include you in the fitness center classes.
