CMI Work-Study Program

The College of the Marshall Islands Work-Study (CWS) provides jobs to students to help them pay for their educational expenses. 

Eligibility

To be eligible, you must:

  • Have a complete financial aid file
  • Have unmet financial need
  • Be enrolled in at least six financial aid course eligible credits at the College of the Marshall Islands
  • Maintain satisfactory academic progress 
  • Be referred by the Financial Aid Appeal Committee

*Although you may be eligible for CWS, jobs are not guaranteed as it is based on a first-come-first-serve basis, so make sure you apply as early as possible.

Please complete this application, along with a colored copy of your valid RMI ID, and colored copy of your RMI social security card. Scan and email them to financialaid@cmi.edu

Deadline

You must submit your application before or by the following dates:

Fall semester – July 30
Spring semester – December 30
Summer semester – May 30

Hours

CWS students work an average of 18 hours per week. But they may not work more than 20 hours per week, or more than 40 hours bi-weekly. The hours may change depending on the needs of the department. Summer CWS hours are based on funding availability. 

Pay

CWS students are paid an hourly rate of minimum wage, and follow CMI’s payroll schedule. All payments are only directly deposited into the student’s bank account so you must also provide a bank account direct deposit form with your application.
