Mission

The mission of the College of the Marshall Islands Education Department is to prepare knowledgeable, resourceful teachers capable of creating classroom environments in which students engage in meaningful learning experiences that build a foundation for lifelong learning.

Programs Offered

(AS-EEDU) Associate of Science Degree in Elementary Education

The Associate of Science in Elementary Education provides insight for prospective and practicing teachers into well-established pedagogy and content knowledge that will improve the quality of instruction for current and future RMI elementary-level students. Faculty provide instruction in best practices and model meaningful, authentic engagement in learning activities and management procedures that support student success.

(BAEE) Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education

The College of the Marshall Islands Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education program is committed to engaging educators in reflection, authentic practice, and constructivism to deliver standards-based curriculum to RMI Elementary students.

(BAEE - CCSPED) Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education with Certificate of Completion in Special Education

The College of the Marshall Islands Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education program is committed to engaging educators in reflection, authentic practice, and constructivism to deliver standards-based curriculum to RMI Elementary students.

(CC-SPED) Certificate of Completion in Special Education

The purpose of this program is to prepare teachers to work in classrooms with students with special needs who require additional support within the least restrictive environment to be successful.

(CC-TEC) Certificate of Completion in Teaching

The purpose of the CCT is to provide classroom experience following the completion of the ASEE or AA degree prior to becoming a full-time classroom teacher.

NSSP Programs Offered

(BAEE-ASCDE) Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education with Advanced Specialization Certificate in Deaf Education

The Advanced Specialization Certification in Deaf Education program supports the mission and the vision statements of the College of the Marshall Islands prepares teachers of deaf students to deliver targeted instruction in deaf education classrooms in the RMI and other Pacific jurisdictions.

(BAEE-ASCSD) Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education with Advanced Specialization in Severe Disabilities

The Advanced Specialization Certification in Severe Disabilities program supports the mission and the vision statements of the College of the Marshall Islands. This program prepares professionals working with students with severe disabilities to provide differentiated instruction on the basis of individual student needs in classrooms and community environments in the RMI and other Pacific jurisdictions.
