Solar Photo-Voltaic (PV) Training for Youths on Ebeye

On November 25 th , 2019 CMI Youth Corp launched its first solar training for 17 young men on Ebeye, Kwajalein Atoll. This was a two-weeks training in collaboration with the Green Energy Solutions and Kwajalein Atoll Local Government. Mr. William Reiher, the trainer, spent two weeks on Ebeye introduced participants to photo-voltaic (PV) design, installation, and maintenance of PV systems. Trainer and CMI will help participants connect with quality local employers so they can start meaningful and well-paid careers.

At the end of the training, participants were given certificates. The top scorers and most competent of the participants will be given letters of recommendation to any potential employer. They will also be linked to further solar training off-island using the established networks with solar training facilities at the USP Fiji, UOG and ASU.

These training participants will now be employed by KAJUR on their Solar Project that will soon be launched in the near future. As mandated in the Youth Corp Act of 2016, the program is to assist with combating the high unemployment rate in the Republic. We are hoping that all our training programs will help prepared these youths for employment.
