The College of the Marshall – Maritime Vocational Training Center conducted a Sea Survival Simulation/Training on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at the WAM Lagoon side area, with the help of International Organization for Migration (IOM). IOM recruited 15 (IOM, MWSC and CMI) participants and funded our delicious lunch for the day. The participants and instructors cover; properly donning a lifejacket, deploying an 8man life-raft and learning about the life-saving equipment inside (water and food rations, different types of flares, parachute anchor, flash light with battery, fishing equipment, paddles, measuring cup, water-proof instruction pamphlets, life-raft repair kit and others). This is a very important activity for anyone traveling on ships and small boats to always wear life jacket and be educated in regards to the life-raft, the different use this raft can provide to anyone experiencing an abandon ship/boat and surviving at sea.
