Community fruit and vegetable gardens were setup by our CMI Jaluit students in order to promote a nutritious and sustainable food source. We have help setup vegetable gardens at Jabor Elementary School, Jaluit Elementary school, the community center and at the CMI Center. Our students worked closely with the Principals, Teachers and students, training them on the procedures and maintenance of their own gardens to which will be used in the school lunch programs. The gardens setup at the community center and CMI Jaluit are maintained by our students which provide free vegetables to the entire community. We continue to work with Land Grant in helping promote projects such as this. A total of 9 gardens are planned this year with 5 complete as of date.
