Using Technology to Support Postsecondary Student Learning

This practice guide provides higher education instructors, instructional designers, administrators, and other staff with five recommendations for supporting learning through the effective use of technology.

Each session will focus on one recommendation from the guide:

  • Session 1: Use communication and collaboration tools to increase interaction among students and between students and instructors.
  • Session 2 (March): Incorporate technology that models and fosters self-regulated learning strategies.
  • Session 3 (April): Use varied, personalized, and readily available digital resources to design and deliver instructional content.
  • Session 4 (May): Use technology to provide timely and targeted feedback on student performance.
  • Session 5 (June): Use simulation technologies that help students engage in complex problem-solving.
