Board of Regents
SAANE K. AHO, is the new Chair of the Board of Regents (BoR) of the College of the Marshall Islands for 2007. She joined the CMI Board in 2006 and was appointed Vice-President. She is a member of the BoR Finance Committee. She has been the Administrator of the Marshall Islands Social Security Administration since July 2000. Her other Board experience includes serving on the Board of the Bank of the Marshall Islands since 2003, where she is Secretary and sits on the Audit Committee. She is also the Secretary for the Marshall Islands Service Corporation.
MARIA K. FOWLER, is the Vice-Chair of the Board of Regents for the College of the Marshall Islands. She is a member of both the BoR Finance and Planning Committees. She became a CMI Regent in October 2005. She list her primary job as "Being a homemaker," but she is also the Vice President and a member of the Board of Directors of Kabua and Kramer Corporation, Inc. (K and K) which is owner of Payless Stores, the K and K Movie Theatre, and Office Rental spaces. She serves on the Marshall Islands Social Security Board, the Waan Aelon in Majol (WAM) Board, and on the Judicial Service Commission. Her work with the Justice and Development Committee of the Assumption Church is part of a larger effort that includes the Federated States of Micronesia, Palau, Guam, and Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas Islands. She co-authored a book on traditional Marshallese medicine that was published in late 2006.
JOHN M. NIEDENTHAL, is Secretary/Treasurer of the CMI Board of Regents and also chairs the Finance Committee. He joined the CMI Board in 2004. Professionally, Mr. Niedenthal is the Trust Liaison for the People of Bikini Atoll, a job which he has held for 20 years. He also manages Bikini Atoll tourism program on behalf of the Bikini Atoll Local Government. His extensive community service activities include service as Chairman of the Board of the Marshall Islands Social Security Administration (2000 to present), Bank of the Marshall Islands Board Member (and Chair of the Audit Committee), Chairman of the Marshall Islands Service Corporation, and Member of the Board of the Prior Service Trust Fund for Micronesia. Other Local Volunteer positions include President of the Marshall Islands Chamber of Commerce and Treasurer on the Majuro Cooperative School Board.
SANDY Y. DISMAS joined the CMI Board in January 2004. This is her fourth year as Regent. She was the Chair of the Board of Regents twice in 2005 and 2006. She currently chairs the BoR Academic and Student Life Committee. She is the Principal of Assumption School`s K-12 program in Majuro, which is home to the only regionally accredited high school in the Republic of the Marshall Islands. She is a member of the Catholic Schools Administrators Conference (CSAC) for Micronesia Region.
DAISY ALIK-MOMOTARO joined the CMI Board in October 2005 and is a member of both the Planning and Academic & Student Life Committees. She is the Executive Director of Woman United Together in the Marshall Islands (WUTMI), a non-governmental organization which advocates for women, children, and family issues in the Marshall Islands. She also serves as a member of the Marshall Islands Catholic Church Advisory Council. In 2007, she recently became a member of the RMI/National Focal Group and a member to the Sub-regional Steering Committee of the Micronesian Small Grant and Global Environmental Fund Programmes.
ROMEO ALFRED served as a Regent at CMI since 2004 and is a member of the Academic & Student Life Committee. He currently manages the Marshallese Training and Employment Program (MTEP) and is a Training Specialist for the Kwajalein Range Services. He also sits on the Republic of the Marshall Islands National Training Council Board. He has served as a Regent at CMI since 2004 and a member.
TITUS LANGRINE is a member of the BoR Planning Committee. He is the Councilman for Rita Ward and a member of the Executive Committee of Majuro Atoll Local Government.
JULIAN RIKLON, joined CMI Board in 2004. He is a member of the BoR Academic & Student Life Committee. He is the Principal of the Kwajalein Atoll High School in Ebeye. Before that he was the General Manager for Kwajalein Atoll Joint Utility Resources. He serves on the Executive Board and is the Deputy Secretary of Ebeye United Church of Christ.
REV. FR. ROBERT R. McAULIFF, S.J., joined the CMI Board in March 2005 and chairs its Planning Committee. He is the Chairperson of the Board of the Micronesian Seminar (MICSEM) in Pohnpei, a consultant to the Society of Jesus for the Region of Micronesia, and local superior of the Jesuits of the Marshall Islands. Father Rich is the Pastor of Assumption Parish and Schools in Majuro.
KENNETH KEDI, joined the CMI Board in March 2005. He is a member of the Academic & Student Affairs Committee and also serves on the Finance Committee. Mr. Kedi is the Assistant Clerk of Nitijela (the National Parliament). He is a Board Member of the Marshall Islands Public Media Corporation, and the RMI Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). He serves as an Advisor for a group of Young People at Assembly of God Church. He is a member of the CMI Class of 1996.
METHAN DANIEL, is the newest member of the Board of Regents. He joined in the Fall of 2007, and is a member of the Academic and Student Life Committee. Mr. Daniel is the President of CMI Student Body Association.
